Wogging Strollers, Nature Walks and Pennies

Lottie Sue, ok - I, really wanted a jogging stroller. But for us it will be more of a wogging stroller (a walking/jogging mix if you will). I'm very excited, I've been looking for one for a few weeks and on Friday I found one at a specialty shop that was 50% - sweet. Here is a photo.

Kevin and Ernie extensively investigate anything new we bring home

Kevin deems the stroller his new napping spot

Matt and I have been wanting a video recorder ever since Lottie Sue came home and we finally bought one this weekend. We went to a few stores to find the one we wanted and then found it for $100 less online. Here is Lottie Sue at Comp USA, she was bored - no baby toys there.

GranDaddy and BB came over for a visit Saturday night, next weekend Lottie Sue is spending the night with them at the lake. She is VERY excited.

On Sunday we went to church with Matt's parents, then the afternoon consisted of a delicious lunch and a nature walk, followed by Lottie Sue watching.

Lottie Sue is SOOOO into her dad

And now dead asleep, this picture was taken about 1 1/2 minutes after the prior photo

No one can take their eyes off of her

Here's a funny: Matt talks in his sleep often, it's usually something funny and the next morning I love telling him what he said. Friday night Matt fell asleep before me and I turned over after I turned the TV off. He grabbed my arm and kissed it three times then said, "Ooooooh, what cha got in there - a penny?!?!" then rolled over and went back into his deep sleep. It really cracked me up.

Here's a few more photos of Lottie Sue...

Matt was making her laugh in this photo

Sometimes when Lottie Sue talks/gurgles she really sounds like Rosco P. Coletrain

Alrighty, I hear Lottie Sue calling me. We hope everyone is doing well! We have a big weekend coming up with the Georgia game. The Gilmores, Apples and Carsons are coming in and we can't wait to see everyone.

I'll take more photos and post later this week. Over and out.

Lottie Sue Loves Elmo and Sleeps Like Mick Jagger

Lottie Sue has a Sesame Street book that's all about bubbles and I noticed that every time Elmo shows up she gets very excited. Yesterday at Target there was an Elmo book and I showed it to her, she screamed when she saw it. It really made me laugh and I guess next time I go to the toy store I'm buying a stuffed Elmo.

Matt's been in DC this week and gets home this evening - YAY!

Here are a few pictures from this week...

Lottie Sue with her friends, no Elmo - yet

Lottie Sue has cankles, 2 rolls per ankle - impressive

with lips puckered (a la Mick Jagger)

Lottie Sue in the morning - waking up

AND I'm awake! Top of the mornin' to ya!

In terms of cuteness, Ernie wants to know
what Lottie Sue has that he doesn't...

Lottie Sue during a feeding, no mess so far

Lottie Sue in her bumbo seat, she's laughing because I sneezed

Big chair, small person

I keep telling her it's only baby fat

Without a game this weekend, we are doing nothing and that sounds just fine to us! I hope everyone is doing well. I'll post more later but Lottie Sue and I hope you are having a great day!

Matt imitating Lottie Sue as she was just minutes before

Hello and WELCOME to our new website! Jamie Linker published a site like this and I am totally stealing her idea (thanks Jamie!). If you click on the gallery link to the right you'll be able to view all photos as you could on our other site. It actually works a lot better, you can run slide shows, adjust the size of the photos, scroll over pictures for captions and even order prints if you feel inclined to do so. Take a minute to check it out! You can also post comments on this site as well, you'll see the option at the end of one of our posts. We always love to hear from you so drop a message in if you feel the urge.

So about our family...Lottie Sue is just awesome! Matt and I are enjoying her so much. Making her laugh is the best thing, she really giggles now. Matt can really make her laugh, I don't think she thinks I'm as funny as he is...

Matt cracking Lottie Sue up

She loves it when you sing to her and she loves to look at herself in a mirror. Every morning we say 'good mornin!' to the baby in the mirror and she loves it. She noticed her hand this week and it seemed to blow her mind.

This past week Becce and Harlan came down. Harlan is a wild man, he is growing like a weed. He is a bucking bronco. He has a lot of toys, but most everything goes in his mouth. Here is a recent picture of him, he is so big!

Happy Harlan, him smiling is par for the course

OK, well I hope you enjoy the new site. I'll have new info up in a few days, it took me a while to get everything over to this site and I need to recuperate!

Much love from the Mowrers,
Jen

September 11, 2007

Lottie Sue had her three-month check-up yesterday and she did really well! Next month we go back for more shots. She is a chunky monkey, she weighs 14lbs and 13 ounces, that puts her in the 92% for weight - she's in the 50% for height, so she's short and stocky but oh so adorable...Lottie Sue is really checking things out now and smiles and laughs pretty much all day. She's one happy baby, and this happy baby has happy parents because she's been sleeping through the night for a couple of weeks now. Oh sleep, how we missed thee...

Yesterday was very busy, we drove to Kingston to meet Jackson Manes and to see Laura. She is Matt's cousin and lives in Dallas, she's in town visiting family. Jackson just turned one and too cute. He has gorgeous brown eyes and red hair - he's almost walking all over the place. I wish I would have taken pictures but please take my word that he's a total cute pie.

After that we went to the doctor's visit then on to visit Lottie Sue's great grandma. We had a nice visit and then came home.

Today we went over to Jo's to visit with Birdie, Birdie has grown so much and is too cute. She's a great baby and is doing very well. She and Lottie Sue are BFFs! You'll notice that Birdie likes to show off her guns.

We're going up to Blowing Rock, NC, in October to spend a few days with a good friends the Linkers (they live in Charlotte, NC). They have a three-year-old, Campbell (she loves Ernie) and now a 4-month-old, Evy - we can't wait to meet her! We'll be staying in a fabulous chalet and will do lots of hanging out and shopping. It's going to be a super fun time!

Alright, I need to go to bed - I hope everyone is doing well!!!

XOXO,
Jen

September 7, 2007

Hi everyone! We got back last night from our trip and now we need a vacation from our vacation! Lottie Sue had a splendid time at the beach; she ate, slept, swam and shopped. She really enjoyed the water and would just hang out in it with us, no problem. She's also doing very well - she turned THREE months old the other day! WOW. And she is sleeping through the night and boy what a difference it makes! She goes to the doctor for her three-month check-up on Monday so I'll have her stats next week. She is a very happy baby, she smiles and laughs all of the time now. It's too cute.

We enjoyed great weather and good times in Florida with Becce, Mike and Harlan. Harlan is growing like a weed and is a very happy little boy, he's not so sure of the water just yet but he'll come around.

We hope everyone is doing well - later! GO VOLS!!!

August 31, 2007

Hi everyone! It's been a few weeks since I've updated this. Who knew how much time it takes to rear a baby? It takes a lot and I apologize for the lack of updates. I will be better from now on I promise!

Tomorrow we pack up and head to Florida for vacation - Sandestin here we come! We're going with Becce, Mike and Harlan and we are sooooo excited. I'm excited to put Lottie Sue's tiny toes in the ocean for the first time. Speaking of Lottie Sue, she's doing great. She now (baby) talks all of the time and had started giggling, it melts my heart every time. We are all very happy and have the best time together. She's getting pretty chubby and it's really cute, her legs are solid and strong.

I'll take a million pictures at the beach, photos of Lottie Sue in her bikini are coming!!!!

August 13, 2007

Greetings everyone! Lottie Sue is growing like a weed, and I know that's a very cliche saying but it's true. She weighs over 12 pounds and is very aware of her surroundings and the people she sees all of the time. She is quick to smile and laugh and it's really just too much fun. Now Lottie Sue is sleeping through the night and we say a big THANK YOU to her for that. It's really from midnight to 6am but we've eliminated that middle of the night feeding - yippee!!! It makes a world of difference. She likes to be outside, trees are hypnotizing to her. She also still loves a good bath and snuggling (now that is her favorite thing). Kevin and Ernie still don't pay much attention to her, maybe a sniff here or there to try to figure out what she is but for the most part they are at ease.

This morning we went over to Sam and Mary Ann's so Lottie Sue could meet her extended family. Sam will have to teach her all about smoking meat (he's the king) when she's older. Mary Ann can teach her all about baskets (inside joke: she has about one million baskets in their house, we need to have an intervention). Sam was in the hospital for back surgery when Lottie Sue was born, he's looking great and getting back to his old self again! Get well soon!

Auntie Shon is in town for the rest of the week (yay yay yay) and we'll see lots of her before she heads back to North Carolina. Matt is in DC until Thursday night and we sure do miss him terribly (poo poo poo).

August 8, 2007

Auntie Shon is in town and is staying with us. Lottie is already very attached...

Our trip to Nashville last weekend went really well. Lottie Sue was good the entire time and Matt and I shopped until we dropped. Coming back from California, Matt had to go out of town to DC this week and got back last night. I know he's looking forward to being home! We sure are!

Lottie Sue went to her 2-month check-up on Monday, she's in the 70% for weight and 30% for height. She now weighs 11 lbs and 12 ounces so we are almost to the 12 pound mark. She gets bigger every day! She's pretty talkative and smiles all of the time, it's awesome!

It's so great to hear from all of our friends - we love you guys!!!!

August 2, 2007

Um, first of all I can't believe it's August. Whoa. Anywho, we're headed to Nashville tomorrow for the weekend. I was looking forward to shopping until I realized that it's "back to school" shopping weekend and it might be a bit crazy. I'll see how much of it I can take.

Bittersweet news: Yesterday I resigned from my job at wonderful Scripps - I did it with a heavy heart but I am very excited to stay at home with Lottie Sue! Everyone has been nothing but great to me during my stay at Scripps and the group there is honestly like family to me. I will visit often!

My pulmonary doctor's visit went well. The chest x-ray showed no signs of anything bad and I'll continue to go back for visits for several more months. I will continue on the medication probably until the end of the year with weekly tests. Dr. Salter feels that amount of time will definitely dissolve any clots that might be there and it will halt the production of new ones. After that he says I'll be off medication and back to a normal life! I can't wait! Pulmonary embolisms are no fun, none at all.

Well tonight Lottie Sue and I are headed over to Jo's for pizza. Later!

July 31, 2007

Hi all! We went to Louisville over the weekend for Harlan's baptism. Everyone came up for the occasion and we enjoyed several nice dinners and family fun. I have a ton of new pictures up so be sure to check them out. We had a great time but it was hard leaving Mike, Becce and Harlan. Last night Lottie Sue and I went over to Patty (my boss for those that aren't in the Scripps circle) and Doug's house for a visit. Patty was out of town last week when I brought Lottie by, and she was VERY excited about meeting Patty and Doug, as they are like family.

Matt is in California for the week and Lottie Sue and I are on our own! Today she went for a checkup with her Neurologist and he said that everything looks good, she'll go back in three months for another check-up. I go to the Pulmonary specialist tomorrow for a chest X-ray and a CTScan, I hope I get a clean bill of health. Fingers crossed! I almost feel back to normal but my blood levels have been fluxuating a lot lately, but they should have that nailed down soon. I'll be on medication for another 5 months they think currently. I can manage that, no problem.

Other big news is that Lottie Sue slept from 9:30pm to 5:30am - I'm not going to get too excited as it might have been a fluke. But if it's not then I am doing to do the happy dance.

On Friday Lottie Sue and I are meeting Matt in Nashville, we're going to stay the weekend. I look forward to shopping!

July 26, 2007

It's been very busy for Lottie Sue this week. She's been to the lake with Uncle Tommy and Aunt Megan, she went to Scripps to meet her extended family (see the photos area, I had too many to put on the front page), we went out to visit Grandmother, Grandad and Grandma in Kingston and we're headed to Louisville tomorrow to see cousin Harlan. Next weekend we're going to Nashville for a getaway - phew! Lottie Sue had her first rehab visit this week and she did very well. The doctor said she is doing what she needs to be doing, butshe does need a little work on her front neck muscles. The cyst caused her to keep her head positioned back while she was in the womb. We have daily exercises we do to help strengthen them, she doesn't like it too much but I keep telling her 'no pain, no gain'...

I have to go back to the doctor tomorrow for another blood test. On Monday it was elevated and they tweaked my medicine dosage. I hope that everything looks good tomorrow!

We also bought a new car last weekend, what we had felt very small once Lottie Sue arrived. She has a lot of gear. So I'm loving the new car and Lottie Sue and I have been touring the area running errands and visiting with everyone. This afternoon we're headed over to Jo's to see her parents (they are in town) and to visit with Jack and Birdie.

I bought a new lens and flash for our camera, so expect about a million new photos next week (after we get back from Louisville).

Alright - thanks for visiting the site. Check back next week for more stories on Lottie Sue!

LOVE, Jen

July 19, 2007

Matt's been in Houston and Lottie Sue SPECIFICALLY requested to wear her "I Love Daddy" outfit as her way to say "missin you, pops", please see the photo. He gets back late tonight and and we are glad because he faced a lot of uncertain travel due to delays and cancellations.

Today GranBunny and BB came by for an afternoon visit then Auntie Kenley came over for dinner (thanks for the burritos - YUM). Lottie Sue was sporting her Strawberry Shortcake outfit (handmade by the ever-talented Aunt Megan) and it was just too cute.

July 18, 2007

Happy Wednesday! Matt is in Houston for two days and Lottie Sue and I are winging it alone - gulp. So far so good but Lottie Sue misses her dad, I can tell! Today we're going to visit the Open Air Market and buy some local yummy veggies and fruits.

Last night I went over to Jo and Blake's to have dinner and meet their new addition - Holly! She is AWESOME and too cute. She and Lottie Sue don't know it yet since they can't process much, but they are destined to be best buds. I have a few more pictures in the 'pictures' section if you are interested - and I bet you are!

PS - On a personal note, I am rediscovering the power of caffeine. It's a wonderful thing.
