She was OUT two minutes after we pulled out of Patterson's driveway. We went over to visit Cassady and Patterson yesterday with TOT in hand. I thought it would be interesting to see how Lottie acted when I held him, but she wasn't so upset if I was holding another baby. She would get upset because SHE wanted to hold him.
Carrie was awesome in distracting Lottie Sue with dancing/exploring/deconstructing things. I'm serious, she has a gift.
Here are a few more of Lottie Sue, I need to get others of Cassady from Patterson and Carrie.
(i remember when she fit into one of these, poo poo poo)
This past weekend we enjoyed the AWESOME weather. We planted our tomato and herb plants and also put in lots of impatiens in the back. We really had a great time and Lottie Sue is quite the helper.
last year was a true disaster and this is manageable for us
Here are a few other random shots for your enjoyment...
I was looking through the computer and took a walk down memory lane. These are a few photos (I think Matt took 3,000 on that trip) from our trip to Hawaii. We actually got married there on the beach and then spent two weeks honeymooning. It was wonderful. This was seven years ago!

We went to DC in 2006 and visited the National Portrait Gallery (if you are making a trip there soon you MUST go there - it's the best place we went) and fell in love with a painting that won their portrait competition (by artist David Lenz). Here's the winning piece.
Matt and I really fell in love with that painting, this blog will not do it any justice of course. After some research we found the artist and saw that we could have some of his work in our home if we bought a high-quality canvas print and not the original. This is the piece that we have in our home, we love love love it so much.
I leave you with one last photo of Harlan taken last weekend. The Apples came down to visit and were at Grandma's house. Grandma is funny about a few things, one of them being that she is her own Neighborhood Watch. She has a pair of binoculars and spies on all of her neighbors. Yes, she does. But anyway, Becce said Harlan loved her binoculars so they, in turn, bought him a kid set. He calls them his "grandmas" - hilarious.
And before I do my usual "items of interest for your reading enjoyment" let me say a BIG HELLO to Shelly Conyngham. She is Carrie's mom and is an avid reader of our blog (she follows it via Carrie's blog). She couldn't leave a comment on our site so she called Carrie and left one via voicemail. Carrie called me and let me listen to it, so after a few steps I got the message. Shelly, THANK YOU for your continued support of my blog. I do it for people like you.
OK, here are the items of interest for your reading enjoyment:
- Where fan mail goes to get answered.
- Everything you wanted to know about Comic Sans and the movement to ban the typeface. I happen to have my own signature font - Century Gothic - it's not available on blogger so I have to settle for Trebuchet. Ooh, but I bet that I can work in html code and make it so! That is now on my "to do" list.
- Here's another excellent article from VF, Wall Street on the Tundra. Iceland has gone bust.
- Here's a story of Six Famous Pirate Ships from mental_floss.
UPDATE: Carrie published a post today (please go to her blog and look at Scott's "Garagement" he built it basically by himself - it's awesome!) and I took these photos...one of her trying to steal the baby and two of them are Lottie Sue saying "cheese."
