don't be scared, happy birthday to becce & the obligatory pumpkin patch trip

boo - wahhh ha haaaaa

Do you like our pumpkins? I think they are pretty neat, Rowdy has the little one there with Lottie Sue having the next biggest and then Matt's is on the left and mine is on the right. We let Lottie Sue draw her face and then Matt carved it exactly - not bad for a two-year old. We did have to say "draw a circle HERE" in order to have it resemble a face but that is acceptable.

Oh yes, and I must say
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Becce - whee! She is recovering from a nasty gallbladder attack/gallbladder removal but will still enjoy the day. We love you!!!

why yes. yes, they are.

Matt is responsible for the image above, he made it for Becce's 25th birthday (I think). It never gets old...

I'll post the carving selection of photos below, but first let me share with you photos from our pumpkin patch trip. I started going to pumpkin patches once I had kids. It is simply what you do.
It sure is fun though. Lottie Sue, of course, loves it and then so of course WE love it. Good, family fun. The weather was perfect and this particular patch was right down the street, it made it easy for us since we have a newborn.

Check out our trip!

Matt, Rowdy and Lottie then go investigate the other produce available...

We concluded the trip with everyone picking out their very own pumpkin. Lottie Sue found this most exciting.

"i wahn dis one"

lottie sue helps matt find the perfect one

seriously, look at her - she is about to explode

Here we are carving the pumpkins - it was FUN. We have about 1,000 pumpkin seeds that I am going to dress and bake this evening. YUM. Eating pumpkin seeds takes me back...

she then knifes her own pumpkin with a butter knife

we let her scoop out the insides - she LOVED
doing this and did a very good job BTW

sticky fun

voila, lottie sue's punkin is finished and ready for halloween

Well, there you have it. It's all Halloween all the time over here in Mowrerland. Lottie Sue likes to run around yelling "Hap Halloween" and we like it, too.

boo garland, kid photos and & really real photorealism

Um, I love to make fabric garland (and gift bags but I'll save that for later). The first garland I made was for Kat's baby shower and it was so cute, and after that I made it for JP and Tabby's wedding shower. Once you make it you can use it over and over again. It's also pretty inexpensive to make, you can use any leftover fabric you might have and then I keep an eye out for clearance fabric when we visit the fabric store.

SO NOW I made Halloween garland and it's so cute! I totally copied Ames Hussar on this idea, I hadn't thought of themed garland until I saw her Halloween garland. Side note: Amy sent this link for making a scalloped fabric garland and I am SO gonna make it (I'm thinking it might be cute on the Christmas tree)! I meant to make this a while ago (pregnancy bed rest and a newborn sidelined me temporarily) but finally got to it this week. BUT anyway, here are a few shots for you.

the triangles before the sewing begins

ta da! super cute, super fun decor

We played Alabama this past weekend and should have won if you ask me. I won't get in to it, but Matt was so very disappointed and we sulked for quite a while.

matt and rowdy before kickoff - feeling optimistic

rowdy (with his signature OLE! move) giving
a little bit of tude before the game

and...here he is after the game (our sentiments exactly)

I took these photos the past week, we are bringing out all of these little baby toys for Rowdy and Lottie Sue loves playing in them again. She looks like a giant compared to little Rowdy.

happy kids

Little Man is now a month old, it's hard to believe! He's really grown the past two weeks and I think he looks totally different than when he was born. I got my first smile from him (not gas induced) the other day, it made me happy.

howdy pahhhht-nah

Lottie Sue is growing up so fast, it's blowing our minds. She is so quick and smart, she is a sponge. She is in total mimic mode, she does everything we do or she wants us to copy her. She is ALL about playing with her babies and primarily putting them in time out. They misbehave ALL the time and it's mostly for hitting another baby she tells us. At least it's her babies in time out and not her...

A few interesting reads for you:
Today is a PERFECT day. Perfect for a pumpkin patch trip! Woo hoo! We are headed there later today, stay tuned for adorable Mowrer family photos!

funny faces by lottie sue & rowdy is rounding OUT

Lottie Sue really enjoys making funny faces, see below for proof. She'll make a face and then demand (no, not ask) that you do the same. It's just a game we play.

funny times
(for those of you with a keen fashion eye...why YES, lottie sue is wearing an american apparel tri-blend cardigan that is identical to one her mommy owns (twinkies!!!))

I just took these photos about 10 minutes ago, little RowMow is bulking UP. He has grown so much the past two weeks. He really looks like a different kid. If he has his eyes closed he looks so much like Matt, but if they are open it's not as striking. See?

another mini-matt

he actually looks like an hedgehog here

and...he's awake
(note his cleft chin, we think he got this from grandaddy
)

The other night Jo came over with a B*TTLOAD of food. I'm not kidding. It was nuts. And delicious.

jo meets rowdy

We had many other visitors this week, Patterson being one of them. She came over with gifts for both kiddies (let me say that Lottie has racked up with presents since Rowdy has been born - if you say the word "present" her head about explodes). Anywho, I give you P-dub and Rowdy!

both are super adorable

And then Carrie came over the other day with gifts as well. I didn't get a shot of her with Rowdy and Lottie Sue was out to lunch with her BB, so I got these of Lottie Sue opening her gift later. Thanks Carrie!

oh boy, what could it be???

it was a baby carrier that she put to use right away (loved it)

baby and rowdy recline

And here are a few shots of Rowdy in his girly recliner.

ole!

say wahhhhhhhhh?

Here we have Rowdy and Matt/Daddy snuggling, I love it.

my boys

OK, that's all for now. Both kids are asleep and Matt and I are gonna play Bananagrams and watch football. BUH BYE!
