boo garland, kid photos and & really real photorealism

Um, I love to make fabric garland (and gift bags but I'll save that for later). The first garland I made was for Kat's baby shower and it was so cute, and after that I made it for JP and Tabby's wedding shower. Once you make it you can use it over and over again. It's also pretty inexpensive to make, you can use any leftover fabric you might have and then I keep an eye out for clearance fabric when we visit the fabric store.

SO NOW I made Halloween garland and it's so cute! I totally copied Ames Hussar on this idea, I hadn't thought of themed garland until I saw her Halloween garland. Side note: Amy sent this link for making a scalloped fabric garland and I am SO gonna make it (I'm thinking it might be cute on the Christmas tree)! I meant to make this a while ago (pregnancy bed rest and a newborn sidelined me temporarily) but finally got to it this week. BUT anyway, here are a few shots for you.

the triangles before the sewing begins

ta da! super cute, super fun decor

We played Alabama this past weekend and should have won if you ask me. I won't get in to it, but Matt was so very disappointed and we sulked for quite a while.

matt and rowdy before kickoff - feeling optimistic

rowdy (with his signature OLE! move) giving
a little bit of tude before the game

and...here he is after the game (our sentiments exactly)

I took these photos the past week, we are bringing out all of these little baby toys for Rowdy and Lottie Sue loves playing in them again. She looks like a giant compared to little Rowdy.

happy kids

Little Man is now a month old, it's hard to believe! He's really grown the past two weeks and I think he looks totally different than when he was born. I got my first smile from him (not gas induced) the other day, it made me happy.

howdy pahhhht-nah

Lottie Sue is growing up so fast, it's blowing our minds. She is so quick and smart, she is a sponge. She is in total mimic mode, she does everything we do or she wants us to copy her. She is ALL about playing with her babies and primarily putting them in time out. They misbehave ALL the time and it's mostly for hitting another baby she tells us. At least it's her babies in time out and not her...

lottie sue rolling around with her babies (while not in time out)

A few interesting reads for you:
Today is a PERFECT day. Perfect for a pumpkin patch trip! Woo hoo! We are headed there later today, stay tuned for adorable Mowrer family photos!

lottie's babies, grandaddy has a birthday & the apples and carsons meet rowdy

Lottie Sue is VERY helpful when it comes to Rowdy, she has been just great with him. If we are doing something with Rowdy she often has one of her babies and will do the same. See evidence below...

matt is feeding rowdy, so lottie sue is feeding her baby doll as well

rowdy is napping, and lottie sue's
baby doll is napping as well*

Daddy/GranDaddy celebrated a birthday on Friday and we went up the lake for dinner. It was our first outing as a family of four (besides going to the doctor's office for Rowdy's first visit). We had a very nice time and it went well. And let me tell you that Lottie Sue fell the other day on concrete and has a busted up nose...she's still super cute though.

rowdy and his dad

grandaddy coming over to blow out
his candles, harlan was way excited

grandaddy holding his newest grandson

harlan was also way excited about cake

Then on Saturday the Apples visited with us for a while, the Carsons were in town for the game and they came over as well. Becce and Mike had to leave to head back to Louisville but Matt and the Carsons headed over to the football game. It was my first time alone with both kiddies and it went very well - no problems! But anywho, I didn't get one photo of the Carsons - ugh!!!

here is auntie b with rowdy

smooch time

Lottie Sue and Harlan stole my Sprite Zero and were in heaven, they took turns sharing though...

what a gentleman

two straws, just like they're at the soda shop

And LOOK at this! Farkie holds a BABY! John hosted Matt at the game and he came over early to hang out for a while and meet Rowdy - lots of love to Farkie!

it's the most natural thing in the world

OK, that's all I have for now. I need to get some sleep before baby boy wakes up for nourishment! We had so much fun this week with Matt being home, tomorrow he heads back to work and I enter life at home with two kids. Pray for me!

*notice the pink basket think rowdy is in, this was lottie sue's and instead of buying a new one we are plopping him in the pink one. he's secure in his masculinity, he can handle it.

poor cera, labor day and lottie sue says "grrrrrrrrrrr"

Cera went to the UT vs. UCLA game last night, when she sent this photo we were winning...oh well. I don't even want to talk about it but did want to share her photo.

i need a new favorite team

Becce and Harlan came down for a few days, Harlan got a haircut from our favorite girl - Cindy Lou.

almost a mullet

ta da, harlan all trimmed up and looking GOOD

Lottie Sue and Harlan got along OK, but they both want what the other one is playing with and Lottie Sue isn't too sure about the hugs Harlan gives (case in point, see below) or sharing anything for that matter.

harlan going in for a hug (he basically lays on her and hugs)

lottie sue is screaming here for freedom, no hugs plskaythnx

Let's move on the better times, Harlan is obsessed with Blue's Clues and so they watched a show together. Lottie Sue liked it ok but Harlan was in the zone - he barely moved (and he moves a lot normally).

mesmerized

Here are two randoms from that afternoon, Lottie Sue reaching for the camera and then one of Harlan playing the piano with his behind.

gimme gimme gimme

tickling the ivories with his behinney

Both kiddos were grubby so we plopped them in the tub together. They had a fun time.

all clean (the last one here is lottie sue's attempt to give harlan a kiss)

We went to visit Johnny, Judy and Benton over the weekend - they had an empty box and it provided lots of fun for Harlan and Lottie Sue.

we're living in a box, we're living in a cardboard box

And we took a few photos of Lottie Sue yesterday, she had an ear infection so we had to make a trip to the ER Saturday night. She's feeling better but she's not 100%, but she's still 100% CUTE.

And I wanted to share the fact that Lottie Sue growls ALL of the time. She sounds like a demon or dog, the other day in her swim class she was growling and the other mothers were laughing nervously with me. It's really distracting because she is so loud, that coupled with the fact that she sounds evil. I guess she'll grow out of it. It's pretty funny to us but to a new person it's a little unsettling.

lottie sue, GRRRRRRR!!!

Here's to a short work week! Matt is in town this week so we'll enjoy family time together. I have another post I'm working on with some photos from Sam, Tommy and Matt cutting down trees. Get ready for some manly men.
