pigs CAN fly, cassady (yay!), virginia (wah!), the half-marathoners we know & random lottie sue photos

Lottie Sue took the long road when it comes to walking. It's a long story built mostly around her not wanting to do it but all you need to know that as of last Friday - SHE WALKS. It is, how they say - a miracle. We are so proud of her, see for yourself!

i want to buy her a pony
(if you watch until the end you'll hear lottie sue say "i fast!" - it's adorable)

Another HUGE thing that has happened: Cassady Lee Wilson is here! Patterson had him yesterday and everyone is doing well. I think that Patterson was in labor for about 15 minutes, it was the fastest delivery ever. Carrie and I went over to meet him yesterday and he is so sweet and SO CUTE! Mom and Dad are doing well, they go home today! I won't post any photos until they update their blog, I'm not gonna steal any thunder.

But before I get too ahead of myself...the Wilsons had a going-away party for Kat, PJ and Jasper last weekend. It was super sad but super fun because we were all together. We promised to visit/call/email to keep in touch. And I only have one photo of Jasper so I stole this one from Kat's blog - um, could he be any happier here?

hi guys!

kat and jasper, right before bed time

patterson still knows how to partay even when on the brink of labor

kitty kat, megan and a short moi

cassady was kicking all night long, i felt him about 10 times!

just a few of the gorgeous girls at the party

carrie and scott, super cute

The next morning we went to Neyland Stadium to watch Megan and Tommy cross the finishe line for the half-marathon. It was FREEZING, I tried to keep warm while Lottie Sue clapped for everyone (love the yawns).

sleepy much?

As we were waiting we heard a few of our friends finish so we took a few photos. Way to go guys!

this is brandi about to cross the finish line

megan and tommy make it to the finish line

and here is maureen looking strong - woo hoo!

And I will leave you with a few photos I took with my phone of Miss Thing. The quality isn't the best, but you get the picture (hahahahahaha).

lottie put her shoes on all by herself, on the wrong foot but STILL

Random notes of interest:
  • The latest issue of Vanity Fair had this excellent article in it about Bernie Madoff - go buy the issue or print the out and read it. Fascinating.
  • Jupiter's Giant Red Spot is shrinking. Wow.
OK, over and out.

ding ding: it's a boy for the mcnicholas family & 7.4.08 photos

Just a quick non-Lottie Sue post here (my apologies to Em!)...but please know that I have a pretty big post coming up, we went to Little Rock last week and I have a ton of photos of the Robinson family (that would be Matt's family on his mom's side). We had a great time!

I wanted to share a photo from Kat and PJ's blog, it really cracked me up...

it's definitely a boy

Congrats to Kat and PJ, a little PJ Jr. is on the way. Whee!

And I forgot to post these photos from the 4th, I had the best intentions of taking a lot of photos but it just didn't happen. Maybe next year. These four photos are the only four we took the entire weekend.

megan and tommy should be on the cover of a jet ski magazine

here is bb falling into the lake on the transfer from jet ski to boat, we were too late to save her because we were laughing (oops)

Alright, I'm out for now but check back tomorrow for our Little Rock post!

kat is PREGNANT (whee!) & we have photos of claire

I hijacked this photo from Kat and PJ's blog - wonderful news from them, they have a mini-McNicholas on the way. Click here to read all about it! We are so very excited for them, they are going to be awesome parents!

I saw that Kat posted a recipe on her blog yesterday, what a mom.

he/she arrives mid-december

Josh sent photos of Miss Claire and I've posted them below. She is gorgeous! This is the note Josh sent along, it has the specifics of her arrival (I had the time wrong and wasn't sure of her exact weight).

Claire Estelle Carson was born at 8:04 AM on Friday, June 13. Claire weighed 7 lbs 9 oz and was 20 inches long at birth. Mother and baby are well. Older brother Max and older sister Jordan are quite proud (not to mention Dad). For those who have not yet heard, we have also recently added Lara's 10-year-old cousin to our growing family.

she is so sweet, i want to hug her and give her a million kisses

claire with mommy

snug as a bug in a rug

here we have jordan holding her new sister, i noticed that josh has his hands ready for a dropping incident but honestly jordan is holding claire like a pro - very impressive

OK, and I have to let you know now that we did not take one photo this weekend...we are ashamed. I forgot the camera so we didn't have one for Jack and Holly's party (but I hope to have a few from other photo takers). And then yesterday it was so busy we forgot. Oops, please forgive us. I will take photos this week and post them - I promise!

Jack and Holly's party was way fun, Holly had on such a pretty dress and she looked so nice. Jack is such a little boy, I can't believe he is 3 years old. He's a cutie pie. The Hussar twins were there and it was neat to meet them as well. Emory and Will are doll babies and Chris and Amy were pros handling two, it was quite impressive.

OK, that's all for now. Post to ya later...

mcnickigoodness is here, get you some & a peek-a-boo overload

I am SO excited, one of my favorite people (in the whole entire world), Kat, created a blog! I can't tell you how it warms my heart when a friend decides to blog (let me take this moment to urge you to start your blog if you've been thinking about it). Now I get to read about things in the McNicholas Casa on a regular basis, let the hilarity ensue! Aside from being entertaining in general, Kat and hubby PJ are remodeling their historic home and the "before & afters" will be awesome (there are some up already). I'm linking them on our blog but please take a moment to check out McNicki Goodness every now and then...you won't be disappointed.

This is Lottie Sue's new favorite blog

Alrighty, let me give you your LS fix. Lottie Sue has been teething and one of the toppers finally broke through. You can barely see it in this photo, so now we're waiting on the other one to drop. She's figured out that she can make noise with them if she bites down real fast over and over again, so she basically does that all day. Well, that and peek-a-boo.

Teeth count: three down with one more on its way

I took lots of photos of the wee babe this afternoon. You'll notice lots of photos of her with her arms up over her head, that is her version of peek-a-boo.

She can see you but you can't see her

Laughing after I yelled PEEEEEEEEEK-A-BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

OK, ready to play again?

Then we moved into the study and I somehow changed the setting on the flash. These are a little overexposed but I'm posting them anyway.

Waving "hi"

And then of course, peek-a-boo

And here are some additional PABs...she's just so cute - I must post.

This baby is the best, she was made happy

Lottie Sue is the name, Peek-A-Boo-n' is my game

Playing with her imaginary friend I suppose

And then I was able to scan in a few old photos. I like to look at the background in these, it's fun to see what we had back in the day.

Looks like I am reading something to Becce here, and that wallpaper is something else (also notice the miniature ironing board in the back behind Becce - I'm getting one of those for LS)

Here we are again in front of the fireplace, I think we are 5 and 8 maybe

Becce striking a pose on Grandma's stoop

Michelle and Matt, circa 1988 - very stylish, these two

I've started reading again, I was unable to read even a magazine for a while but now I'm in the groove with things and have read three books the past two months. That's BIG news...anywho, I thought I'd share what I've read in case you need a book suggestion.

big thumbs up

thumbs up

thumbs up

Signing off - oh yeah, this is what happens when you let Lottie feed herself. She actually did a great job, just a messy one.

PPPPSSSTghetti, I hearts it

Tonight we are having a Mexican stir fry meal (not your typical stir fry we know) - um, we REALLY need to go to the grocery store.
