A Tall and Chunky Drama Queen

Boy, it's so hard to believe that she's four months old. It feels like we've had her forever and not four measly months. I took Lottie Sue to the doctor's office this am for her four-month checkup. Dr. Solomon said that she looks "just awesome" and that she is a very healthy and happy baby girl. After everything she's been through, she's really growing and she's right on developmentally. She does have kidney reflux, but hopefully that will correct itself within a year and if not then it's a fixable problem. We had so many serious things to worry about before she arrived but she's proving to us that she's doing just fine...it's very encouraging for us to have doctor visits that go so well!

Today she was very talkative and wanted to play more than anything. Dr. Solomon said that he felt she wanted him to stay and chat when he was done. Too bad though, she had to get her shots. It's amazing how loud she can get - she screamed bloody murder. But after it was done I picked her up and right away and she stops crying and then smiles real big at everyone. What a drama queen.

Lottie Sue meets with her rehab doctor tomorrow, hopefully she's strengthened those neck muscles to her liking and then next week we go to her Neurosurgeon for a checkup. I myself go back to my Pulmonary doctor early November and I am hoping for a clean bill of health. I currently still go at least once a week to have blood work done, it will be so nice to NOT have to do that. I think they'll miss me though, they love Lottie Sue.

Back to the baby: For her stats, she weighs 16 pounds 6 ounces and she is 25 1/2 inches long (she had a growth spurt this past month) - these numbers put her in the 93% for weight and the 87% for height. So now instead of being short and chunky she's tall and chunky. One of the nurses asked me if I was sure she was four months old because she looks so big. And now we are able to introduce some food into her diet, just once a week for now but that should be a fun. And messy. She's also been sleeping through the night for almost 2 months now. It started at down for bed around 11ish and sleeping until 6ish, but we've worked it to her down for bed around 9 and then sleeping until 6 or 7 - it's wonderful!

Last week we put her into the jumper/fun thing - at first she just kinda sat there but now she bounces up and down and up and down.

She also reaches out for things and puts them in her mouth. It's so crazy because one day she's just doing something totally new that she didn't do the day before. It's so awesome to watch. Matt can really make her laugh, she thinks he's hilarious. She loves it when you sing to her and she also loves books, or at least she really watches each page as you go along.

Oh yeah, I mentioned that no one took any pictures of the babies together this past weekend. Well Lara came through with one on her camera - here is proof!

I think Becce's sending out photos of Harlan soon, he just turned 7 months! I'll steal a few and put them up, he's a total cutie pie.
