the holidaze, blog magic & a curly q

lemme start this off with miss thang on her new toy, the tamPOween as she says it. if you have a toddler you really need to get one of these. she's all over it like it's a bag of chips (and if you know lottie you understand the gravity of that statement). lottie sue looks x-tra crazy here, it's how we like her.

pink sunglasses jump jump jumping away

i feel the need to point out/correct something before i really get started on this post. the wildly popular "sister wife" photo of cera was NOT a school photo. so she didn't forget pictures were that day and then go to school not not dressed appropriately. this photo was taken at olan mills. she made an appointment, people. she thoughtfully picked this outfit out along with the hair.

seriously?
(love you cera!!!)

you know that matt likes to draw and he gets way into it during the cold season. he decided to make a drawing for granbunny and granray as a christmas gift this year. it. is. awesome.

i give you - walkerhuddlenicelyapplemowrerberg.

grandchilden & great-grandchildren

ok, let me post a few photos from the holidays. matt and i were very busy and didn't actually take that many but i do have a few. here are the highlights. the apples have a new camera and i'll steal some of their photos once they put them out in the universe.

and granray's house on christmas eve

tommy painted a portrait of granbunny and
granray's beloved doggie, duchess

(i wish i had a better photo, it is wonderful and they love it very much)

the kids put out rice krispie treats (they decorated
them with sprinkles - fun project) and milk for santa

lottie sue running around in her tinkerbell costume (the apple gift)

harlan as a ghost in my snuggie*
(*yes, i have a snuggie. i let it be known that i
would not be upset if one made it my way this
christmas. cera delivered. and i need to point out
that it's great and everyone is always trying to snuggie it up.)

this is lottie sue playing hide & seek before church

over the break we completed a few projects and watched movies, basically. we started to train miss thang on the potty and it kinda makes you a prisoner in your own home. but in case you are wondering, she is doing so well! we are very proud of her and she now announces when she has to go and makes her way to the bathroom. she's big time now.

cera and i watched a scary movie like this - literally

matt and i have been wanting to hang art and photos as a cluster on our study wall for a long time. we (mostly matt) got around to this hard project over the break. it was not "fun."

lots of measuring and rearranging - not good for a p, as opposed to a j
(nice view if you know what i mean)

here is the "unfinished" project, we have many years to add to it but we have a very good start. we may do the whole room. you can click on the image below to read all about it. and don't roll your eyes too much, there is a lot of "we are mowrer, hear us roar" on this wall.

you can see here where all of the blog magic happens. how intimate.

um, i love my slide - i love making things like this a little too much

bb and grandaddy gave lottie sue a dollhouse for christmas and she's pretty much all over it. judy and johnny gave her a kitty kat family to live there and they are the main residents but others have made their way into the home.

it's hilarious to hear to speak for her "peoples"

she was going through a morning routine with them and the mommy kitty stayed in bed while the daddy kitty went downstairs to wake the kids up and make breakfast. it made us laugh because while i do not stay in bed in the a.m. matt does any and all cooking. it's what she knows.

ballrina lives there as well, this is the outfit lottie
wants her to wear every day - two skirts

(she is fashion forward, i am tearing up - so proud)

new years came and went, here a few photos. we had a low-key evening with the venables, smiths and cera. please note the snuggie usage (high).

now sam AND mary ann are in the snuggie

the next day we had people over to play board games and basically eat all day. much fun was had.

cera drew this of me, see the next photo

she did a perfect rendition (rowdy is not so impressed though)

rowdy laughing at something

lottie with a big-time smile

she was wild with energy, high on life

ok, time for bed

i looked at rowdy yesterday and thought HOW CAN HE BE GROWING SO FAST - YIKES?!? i then took about 200 photos of the kids for posterity's sake. enjoy.

rowdy is one happy boy

lottie sue showing me how to stand with one foot on top of the other
(please note her t-shirt...)

that t-shirt is mine from WAY back when
(i'm on the top row, last girlie on the right
)

after rowdy's breakfast i had his clothes downstairs and lottie wanted to wear his onsie. i told her to try it out, she loved it and ran around for a while in it.

again with the fashion-forward business

it's like a jacket with tails

here we have rowdy in his boppy, i tried to get one of him smiling but it didn't happen. he just looks serious and introspective.

please note his curley q, this was the first thing
i noticed about him when we first met

lottie sue has been busy building her portfolio, i'm ending this post with some of her best shots from the past week.

oh, i spoke too soon. i am really going to end the blog with fascinating things for you to read.

i'm a giver.

stick a fork in me. i'm done.

good evening and good nite!

PS - something for you to look forward to...matt's sister michelle mailed a photo to me of matt as a teenager doing his "tigerbeat" pose. it's great. we can laugh at it later. toodles.

Loved Lottie Sue in her tinker bell costume. I bet she was so mcuh fun at Christmas. Rowdy is showing his own personality already.
Hope your holidays were great.
Wishing you and the family all the best in 2010.

I hate when mom beats me to be the first comment;) I think LS looks like Elton John in that first picture on the trampoline:) You know-some say he is known for his fashion sense as well? Maybe LS is the ultimate tiny dancer-maybe she will marry a music man? I bet Matt and you would heart that. Must do lunch soon!!

Please let the Mowmow artist know that the Linker family would like to commission him for a family drawing as well. Awesome!
