megan was uber excited about the prospect of dancing in her tutu with her ballet shoes (from way back when - college). she looked the part (a super pretty ballerina!!!), but the kids wore her out. it was like herding cats. rachel and i enjoyed the show from afar.
lottie's teacher, miss melissa, let the girls know that at the end of class they got a cookie. once lottie sue heard this she could do NOTHING but think/want/focus on cookies. she had cookies on the brain, yo. she would dance a little then run over to me (or another mom, her teacher - anyone, really) and ask "can i have my cookie now?" in her sweet little voice. i know she asked me 8 times for it. i am not kidding - ask rachel.
i had rowdy with me (asleep) and i was trying to video tape the class plus take photos and it was hard for me to keep her in check. early on i gave up and decided to laugh about it. one time she actually had her hand in the cookie jar (ok, it was a covered plate) - again, not kidding - ask rachel.
here are the photos i took last night - enjoy!
it's funny, lottie sue sticks that tongue out if she is concentrating on something. see?
during one part of class they dance with a stuffed animal. this evening lottie picked mickey mouse.

i love this photo, usually miss melissa has to corral lottie a lot. if they are dancing in a line, lottie is usually somewhere else in the room investigating something or chatting someone up. if her teacher had a dime for every time she had to get lottie back in line she'd have $1 every tuesday night.
this move really got her attention and she went along with it! no corralling needed.
then it was time for taps but i am a horrible mother and left her dance bag at home. i will never forget again. lottie loves tap because she gets to stomp around and make lots of noise. here she is with miss melissa - she is finally starting to do the moves correctly. i am very proud.
ball beat movewait for cookies, she almost cried
megan, ballerina princessAND FINALLY - LOTTIE GETS HER COOKIE. she was so happy, she showed it to everyone.
here is a shot of our ballerinas. adorable squared!
and a shot of me with miss thang, eating her cookie.
i hope you enjoyed the dance section of this post. now you can read about other interesting things..
